PRISON ISLAND TOUR

This is half an hour boat trip to one of the nearest island (changuu) situated west of the main island, it used to be prison during the time of the slave trade, and after the ban of slave trade in Zanzibar in 1873, Othas been used as a quarantine hospital whenever there was an outbreak of epindemic diseases.
Now a tourist resort, they have big giant tortoises, peacocks and some other interesting things to see part of its beautiful beach and good spots for snorkeling.
